BG’s Frosty Fare:

Offering City’s Largest Selection of Hand-Dipped Ice Creams

BG’s Frosty Fare is an ice cream shop located on the west side of Bowling Green, at 990 W. Poe Road. The shop was originally named Ice Cream Machine when it first opened back in 2007. Business owner and manager Robin Belleville purchased the business from the first owners in 2012, and has been running it ever since. Belleville recreated the signs for the shop, as well as remodeled the lobby and menu layout. BG’s Frosty Fare offers the city’s largest selection of hard-dipped ice cream, with 20 flavors to choose from.

The shop offers such a large variety of product because it has two separate manufacturers. The ice cream is purchased from Toft’s, out of Sandusky, Ohio, and Ashby’s, a manufacturer from Michigan. Ashby’s can only be found in ice cream shops. It can’t be found in grocery stores, and is not carried by any other business in this area. BG’s Frosty Fare also offers soft serve ice cream, soft serve frozen yogurt, and dairy free/gluten free options that change weekly. Of the food options available, most is made by hand. The beef brisket is raised on Belleville’s farm, and the pulled pork sandwiches are made from scratch as well.

“My goal is customer service and quality,” Belleville said. Frosty Fare features a drive through, which enables customers to satisfy their sweet tooth on any rainy day. Call- ahead ordering makes grabbing your treat effortless.

The shop’s location provides customers with great parking. It’s also only a few minutes away from campus, however, its far enough so that you can enjoy the city of Bowling Green outside of the campus area itself. BG’s Frosty Fare is seasonal, open March 1 through late September.
